Lotus Lap Curriculum

Lotus Lap Public school, Turkamjyal branch is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). We are commited to provide quality education to promote intellectual, social and cultural vivacity among our students. Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum Framework.
Our curriculum is diligently designed in such a manner, keeping in mind the national and international standards and evolving global trends in education.
Ours is a comprehensive curriculum that provides broad based education where students study Languages, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science besides Creative, Performing Arts.
The students are taken towards excellence through theory, experiments, project work, guest lectures and field trips.
Co curricular activities are incorporated into academic time table as per CCE guidelines whereby students have an opportunity to learn the basics of these skills by being exposed to them regularly.

We Integrate our syllabus with various OLYMPIAD programs as LOTUS LAP always had pragmatic approach towards education. Teaching learning methodologies of our school comprise of three components of the curriculum that is written, taught and assessed.
We at lotuslap give ample opportunities to students to explore and to gain knowledge through practical work, quizzes, debate, elocution, field visits etc.,. “ Every child is unique @ LOTUS LAP”. We recognise each student’s strongest talent and encourage them. We at LOTUS LAP inspire children to dream and groom to lead.
Our activities i.e., dance , music, theatre, community service are designed to create confident individuals. The curriculum at LOTUS LAP is pupil centred and learner friendly integrated with various co-curricular activities that promote alround development of the children.

The pedagogy at LOTUS LAP is a unique blend of research based projects, conventional chalk and talk method. We encourage our teaching faculty for integrating information technology at each and every level of planning. Students are given a platform to nurture their talents through subject wise events like science week, math week, Literary club, etc.
Teachers at LOTUS LAP Integrate various activities in their classroom teaching to make teaching and learning in a natural process.

Assessment Formats

Assessment format for PrePrimary – I and PrePrimary-II

For PP-I & PP-II there are no formal examinations. The assessment of the children is based on evaluation done on the basis of day to day observation.

Assessment format for class I – IX classes

An academic year will have 2 terms

First Term – April/June – September

Second Term – October/December – March

For the purpose of posteling core competencies in learners curriculum encompasses seven major learning arcas from scholastic and co-scholastic point of view.

Term - I

Periodic test – I will be held in the month of July.

Periodic test IV and Term end examination will be held in March-2019.

Structure of Assessment scheme

An assessment scheme will have 20 marks component of internal marks.

An 80 marks for Term examinations in all scholastic subjects.
Students need to secure 33 percent marks separately in each of these components.

These are subject specific activities aimed at enrichment of the understanding and skill development.

Languages: Activities conducted for subject enrichment in languages aim at equipping the learner with effective listening and speaking skills (ASL).

Mathematics & Science: Practical work laboratory activities.

Social Science: Map or projects, data collection etc.

Note books submission

An important appraisal to ensure the regular and attentive participation of students in class room transaction.

It address the critical aspects of regularity, punctuality, neatness, notebook upkeep.

Performance will be assessed using marks & grades. Grades on a 9 point scale will be awarded for the scholastic areas.

Co-scholastic activities

For the holistic development of the student co-curricular activities in the following areas be carried out in the CBSE syllabus.

Work Education

Art education, health education, computer, music/dance.

The students will be graded on a 5 point scale (A – E).

A – outstanding, B – very good, C – good, D – fair, E – fail

Performance Profile

A printed performance profile will be given twice in a year.

After the end of Term – I in the month of October. (PT – I, PT – II, Midterm).

After the end of Term – II in march PT-III, PT-IV/ Final exam
